GLYDE VANTAGE 5.0 MEN'S
Premium Sleeveless Open Water Wetsuit
Designed Specifically for Male Swimmers
The GLYDE Vantage 5.0 Men's has been purpose-built for swimmers who want the buoyancy and body-position support of a performance wetsuit with the freedom and natural feel of a sleeveless design.
Constructed from GLYDE Flex 39 Japanese limestone neoprene with strategically positioned smooth outer panels, the Vantage 5.0 Men's combines 5mm construction through the body and upper legs, 4mm through the lower legs and flexible 2mm panels around the shoulders and underarms.
For swimmers whose hips and legs naturally sit lower in the water, the Vantage's targeted buoyancy is designed to support the lower body and encourage a more streamlined swimming position.
A specially shaped curved underarm gusset wraps around the upper body to help limit water entry while maintaining the freedom expected from a sleeveless wetsuit.
Whether you're preparing for your first ocean swim, training for a triathlon or simply prefer swimming without full-length wetsuit arms, the Vantage 5.0 Men's is designed to keep things simple, comfortable and free.
Technology Breakdown
GLYDE Flex 39 Japanese Neoprene
GLYDE Flex 39 is our name for the flexible Japanese limestone neoprene used in this wetsuit, selected to balance comfort, flexibility and buoyancy.
Different panel thicknesses allow each area of the suit to serve a specific purpose—from flexible 2mm shoulder and underarm sections to supportive 5mm panels through the body and upper legs.
The result is a considered construction designed around swimming movement, support and comfort.
Smooth Outer Finish
Strategically positioned smooth outer panels create a sleek surface designed for movement through the water.
These panels complement the wetsuit's flexible construction and streamlined fit.
Careful handling remains essential. The smooth outer surface can be damaged by fingernails, sharp objects or forceful pulling. Use the pads of your fingers and work the suit into position gradually.
FREEDOM™ Sleeveless Shoulder System
The sleeveless design leaves your arms free to rotate naturally throughout every phase of the swimming stroke.
Flexible 2mm GLYDE Flex 39 neoprene shoulder panels create a comfortable transition around the upper body while maintaining the open feel that makes sleeveless wetsuits so popular.
The result is freedom through the arms and a natural feel through the shoulders.
WrapSeal™ 2mm Underarm Gusset
A specially shaped, curved 2mm GLYDE Flex 39 neoprene underarm gusset wraps around the body to create a close seal beneath the arms.
WrapSeal™ follows the shape of the chest and underarms to help limit water entry through the arm openings while maintaining flexibility.
Correct fit through the upper chest and underarms is important for this system to work effectively.
CoreLift™ 5mm Buoyancy System
Strategically positioned 5mm GLYDE Flex 39 neoprene through the body, core and upper legs provides buoyancy around the torso, hips and thighs.
For swimmers whose lower body tends to drop, this additional support is designed to help bring the hips and upper legs closer to the surface.
A more streamlined position can help reduce resistance through the water. The effect will vary with your natural buoyancy, swimming technique and wetsuit fit.
HydroBalance™ 4mm Lower Leg System
4mm GLYDE Flex 39 neoprene through the lower legs continues the suit's buoyancy profile while using less thickness than the body and upper-leg panels.
HydroBalance™ balances lower-leg support with flexibility for kicking and comfortable movement before, during and after your swim.
GlideGuard™ Single-Layer Neck System
A single-layer neck construction designed to minimise bulk and help reduce rubbing around the neck during training and racing.
A comfortable fit and correct positioning remain important for reducing irritation on longer swims.
ComfortSeal™ Low Profile Neck
The low-profile ComfortSeal™ collar is designed to sit comfortably around the neck and help limit water entry without excessive pressure around the throat.
Male-Specific Fit & Buoyancy
The Vantage 5.0 Men's combines a men's fit with buoyancy positioned to support the torso, hips and legs.
Its 5mm body and upper-leg construction with 4mm lower legs offers additional support for swimmers who find their hips and feet dropping during their stroke.
Rather than using the same thickness throughout, the Vantage combines thicker buoyancy panels with flexible 2mm sections around the shoulders and underarms.
Body shape, technique and natural buoyancy vary between swimmers. The aim is a comfortable fit and supportive swimming position that works with your stroke.
The curved WrapSeal™ underarm system means the fit through the upper chest and underarms is intentionally slightly firmer than the GLYDE Aligned.
This close fit helps form the seal needed around the arm openings of a sleeveless wetsuit while leaving the arms free to move naturally. It should feel secure without causing pain or restricting breathing.

Size Guide
GLYDE wetsuits are designed for a performance fit: snug on land, with enough room to breathe comfortably and move naturally.
Neoprene may soften and settle with use, but your wetsuit should fit correctly from the start. Do not rely on stretching to make an excessively tight suit comfortable.
Use the standard GLYDE Men's Wetsuit Size Guide for the Vantage 5.0.
Fit & Care Notes
-
The Vantage 5.0 fits slightly firmer through the chest and underarms than the GLYDE Aligned because of the curved WrapSeal™ underarm system.
-
If you fall between two GLYDE sizes, the larger size may offer a more comfortable fit in the Vantage 5.0. Contact us if your height and weight fall into different size ranges.
-
A correctly fitted suit should feel snug, without loose neoprene or large gaps where water can collect.
-
The underarm seal should sit firmly against the body without restricting natural arm movement.
-
Work the wetsuit gradually up from the ankles, positioning each section before moving higher. Make sure the crotch is seated correctly before adjusting the torso and shoulders.
-
You should be able to breathe comfortably. Pain, numbness or excessive pressure are signs that the fit or positioning needs attention.
-
Wetsuits may soften and mould slightly to the swimmer with use.
-
If you prefer less compression or need an easier suit to put on, contact us for sizing advice.
-
Take extra care with smooth outer panels. Avoid fingernails, jewellery and sharp objects, and never pull forcefully on a small area of neoprene.
-
Fitting gloves can help with handling, but they do not guarantee protection from damage.
-
Not sure which size? Contact us—we've fitted thousands of swimmers and are happy to help.
-
Rinse in fresh water after every use and dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight.
The GLYDE Philosophy
The Vantage 5.0 Men's draws on decades of experience in swimming, coaching and wetsuit fitting, with a focus on what makes a difference in the water.
It takes one of the simplest ideas in open-water swimming—remove the sleeves and let the shoulders move naturally—and combines it with GLYDE Flex 39 Japanese neoprene, a smooth outer finish, targeted 5mm buoyancy and a purpose-designed underarm sealing system.
The focus is straightforward: supportive buoyancy, comfortable fit and the freedom to swim naturally.
Simple. Fast. Free.
